The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia Quality Assurance Programs (RCPAQAP) has selected the PathoGate.net platform to facilitate an efficient collection of expert assessments for their technical proficiency programs in Anatomical Pathology and Molecular Genetics.
They become the second major EQA provider to use the pathogate.net platform for integrated and efficient data collection in the EQA process.
RCPAQAP offers a wide range of technical external quality assessment programs in Anatomical Pathology to customers in more than 80 countries. Unstained slides with known targets are sent to local laboratories for staining according to their internal procedures and returned to RCPAQAP for centralized assessment by a panel of medical and scientific experts using the PathoGate.net platform.
The experts review the quality of the slides and record their individual assessment. The session coordinator has real-time access to scores and can quickly identify cases that may require further clarification. When all of the slides have been scored, a tailored data file is exported from the platform and imported to our existing IT infrastructure for further processing.
Derek Holzhauser, Chief Information Officer was part of the evaluation team. “It was important for us to select a data collection tool, which is robust, flexible, easy to use and integrates well with our existing IT infrastructure. We believe that the PathoGate platform meets our requirements in those areas”.
Andreas Schønau, Founder and CEO of PathoPulse is proud to support a world leading proficiency testing organisation like RCPAQAP: “External Quality Assessment is key to standardizing staining of tissue slides, and RCPAQAP plays a key role in this process. We are proud that PathoGate.net has been selected as the preferred platform by RCPAQAP, and we are looking forward to supporting this important work in the coming years.”
